This filter is classified as "washable", even though it is "washable" I would recommend just getting a new filter when the time comes. Washing the vary small dust particles out of microscopic filter pores is almost impossible. You will not receive 100% airflow which can damage your vacuum. Plus if it does not dry properly it can start stinking.
