Notice: The new belts you receive will be shorter than the old belt that came off of your vacuum. This is normal because the belt must be stretched to almost twice the original length to install. After a few months the belt will lose elasticity and start to slip.
Warning: Change your Vacuum Belts every 6 months. At least once a year. Also clean the hair and lint from around the ends of the brushroll or it will build up and damage the brushroll or the vacuum cleaner nozzle housing which is expensive to repair or replace.
WHY do vacuum belts NEED Changed if they're not broken? You have to stretch a new belt to get it on your vacuum. Every day your belt looses elacsticity (think of a 2 inch rubber band that you stretch to 4 inches and leave it that way for a few months) Even if your vacuum cleaner is never used the belt is stretching and loosing elasticity. Every single day it doesn't work quite as well as the day before. It will still pick up hair and light dust but can't dislodge the heavy sandy, gritty soils to the surface of the carpet fibers to be sucked out of the fibers. After 6 months the brush-roll really starts to slow down. It may even stop spinning completely when the vacuum cleaner nozzle is lowered onto the carpet.
Many popular parts are available as replacement parts meaning they are not sold under the name tag of the original manufacturer. This does not mean the replacement part is not good, sometimes it is better than the genuine parts. It just means it doesn't carry the original manufacturers name tag. It may be made by the same company that made the "genuine" parts. Some parts sold as "genuine" are actually bootleg or knockoffs. It is buyer beware to insure you are purchasing from someone you trust will supply you with quality genuine and aftermarket products. Just like when purchasing "store brand" or generic items at the store, some items are better than the original and then some are not.
