Bagless or Bagged? Canister or Upright? How do you choose the best vacuum for your home or business? Does price matter? You cannot believe everything you see on infomercials and advertisements. Most of the testimonials and reviews are made within the first year of the vacuum being purchased. Even the cheapest vacuums may work great...for a while. But how well will it be working in a year or two....or 5 or 10 years. You don't have to spend a lot to get a quality, durable vacuum cleaner, but it's also possible you may spend a lot and NOT get a quality, durable vacuum either. Even your friend's new vacuum they've been raving about may not be the right vacuum for YOU. To find the right vacuum for YOU, talk to the people that know vacuums best, and visit your local dealer.
All vacuums need to be maintained to keep working properly, which may be as simple as replacing a belt and/or filter every 6 to 12 months. Dust, hair, debris, etc. can build up, especially around the brush roll which can cause problems. Routine vacuum maintenance on most vacuums is very simple if performed frequently enough. For some people that means once a month, but for most it may be a few times per year. A majority of vacuum problems are caused by a lack of maintenance which is usually not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
Whose advice can you trust to help you? The people who service vacuums everyday and help customers choose the correct vacuums for their specific needs will not be found in a discount store, they will be found in a vacuum cleaner store.
